SAT Critical-Reading - Word Groups

Word groups are groups of related words.  Some of the words on your vocabulary list are related or have similar definitions- for example, abase (to humiliate) is similar to "condescend" (to talk down to).  As you make your vocabulary list, you should recognize the similarities between these related words.  You may want to group them together, in a list of 'negative' words, or you may want to use them in a sentence together so that you remember that they have similar meanings.

Here is an example of a list of related 'word groups' or words that all mean the same thing.  You can use this list as a starting point, but you will want to come up with your own list by going over the vocabulary that you don't know and seeing which words are similar or have the same definition.
